Our experience

AHAS has an extensive knowledge in designing Aquaponics Units architecture appropriate to your land. Each unit is designed to take advantage of the specific land configuration. Flat or inclined, cemented or soil ground, urban or countryside  on the ground or rooftop, ... We optimise each unit hydraulics in order to minimise energy consumption. 

The MIT is used to build every unit, like bricks are used to build a house. The MIT has been specifically designed to receive an oxygenation system that provides the critical optimum water oxygenation and flow the plants need.


Our project management process

AHAS can assist you building your project. We operate on a 6-phase process:

  • Phase 1: Project definition
    • We gather information on your project: production objectives, climate, land size and configuration (orientation, slope, access to water and power, …). A site visit can be completed if required.
    • We agree on the project objectives and responsibilities.
    • AHAS provide a draft cost estimate and related design fee
  • Phase 2: AHAponics Unit architecture design
    • AHAS receives the refundable design fee (10% of total project equipment cost
    • AHAS delivers a detailed design with layout drawings and hydraulic design. 
  • Phase 3: Equipment order 
    • The design is approved
    • AHAS invoices 50% of equipment cost. 
    • AHAS prepares the shipment
  • Phase 4: Equipment delivering and installation
    • The balance equipment invoice payment is completed (40%, as the design fee is refunded)
    • AHAS deliver the equipment on requested site
    • Unit installation. Two options
      • Local support: AHAS mobilises a team at cost to complete the unit installation (estimated at $5000 for a maximum size unit plus mobilisation cost depending on location)
      • Remote support: AHAS provide free remote assistance during installation 
  • Phase 5: Commissioning and unit startup (assuming local support has been provided)
    • Start-up the AHAponics unit and complete commissioning
    • The installation and commissioning balance payment is completed
    • Provides training as required
  • Phase 6: Long term support
    •  Provides remote and on-site technical support as required 


Our team will pass on in your project unit design all knowledge we have acquired over our years of experience, from seeding to harvesting. 


Our Units

Our units are based on the success of our AHA Aquaponics Farm. We design fit for purpose units optimised the size and shape of your land. Please contact us

Our commercial units size range vary from 30 MIT (150m2) to 100 MIT (500m2). We advise to fit several independent units in bigger greenhouses.   


100 MIT latest generation

Our largest unit is made of 100 MIT, as a mix of MIT45 and MIT90. This example uses 60 MIT45 (4 pallets) and 40 MIT90 (5 pallets).

Land size: 500m2


Using 20% of the MIT45 for tall plants, this unit can host over 6400 small plants and 160 tall plants. In the highest plant density configuration, the 100MIT unit offers 15,000 plant holes.

The 3800 fishes process 12kg of food daily.

Average production based on Thailand Unit production rates: 800kg of vegetable and 500kg of fish per month.

Assembly duration: 7 days.

ROI over 50%. Payout time under 24 months.

Building Rooftop unit

The MIT system is light, easy to assemble and disassemble. It can also be setup with not a single damage does the the host property. It is therefore the most appropriate solution for Rooftop system. 

Land size: 150m2

The greenhouse roofing structure is anchored in the MIT legs. No harm dome on the floor. 

Wouldn’t we love to see all city building and supermarket growing our vegetable Aquaponically on the top of our shopping malls and supermarkets. 


Using 20% of the MIT45 for tall plants, this unit can host over 1950 small plants and 40 tall plants. In the highest plant density configuration, the 30MIT-Rooftop unit offers 4,500 plant holes.

The 1000 fishes process 3.4kg of food daily.

Average production based on Thailand Unit production rates: 240kg of vegetable and 130kg of fish per month.

Assembly duration: 5 days including support structure.

The half size: a 50 MIT unit

The first AHAponics urban farming in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is currently being started and will be fully operational in May 201. 

Land size: 200m2

 


Using 20% of the MIT45 for tall plants, this Unit hosts an average of 3000 small plants and 70 tall plants. In the highest plant density configuration of 60 plants per board, the unit offers 7,500 plant holes.

The 1600 fishes process over 5.2kg of food daily.

Average production based on Thailand Unit production rates: 380kg of vegetable and 200kg of fish per month.

Assembly duration: 5 days.

The smallest: a 30 MIT unit

A small scale AHAponics urban farm in Bangkok, Thailand. It has been built in August 2018. The unit is made of 1 lines of 10 MIT45 for tall plants production and 2 lines of 10MIT90 for short plants.

Inclined land: Hybrid MIT-NFT Commercial unit

In suitable climate, plants like strawberry can be added onto a AHAS unit using gravel NFT. This farm is designed to produce a mix of salads, tomatoes, and strawberries. 

Using 20% of the MIT45 for tall plants, this Unit hosts an average of 3500 small plants, 170 tall plants and 1000 strawberry plants. In the highest plant density configuration of 60 plants per board, the unit offers 9,000 plant holes in the MIT section.

The 3400 fishes process over 11g of food daily.

Average production based on Thailand Unit production rates: 500kg of vegetable, 50kg of strawberries, and 400kg of fish per month.

Assembly duration: 10 days.

ROI over 54%. Payout time under 22 months.

Larger commercial units

Should you need to equip larger greenhouse, AHAS strongly advise to build several independent units. One acre of land can host 8 100MIT units.
